Author Guidelines

General Instructions

  1. Authors must register as writers to submit manuscripts.
  2. Articles must adhere to the Author Guidelines and use the provided template, available for download here.

Manuscript Preparation Guidelines

  1. Submissions must be original and not under consideration elsewhere. The editor reserves the right to cancel or withdraw any manuscript found to be in violation of this requirement.
  2. Manuscripts should be typed in Microsoft Word or other word processing software with the extension.doc,.docx, or.dot and submitted online via the Masokan e-journal at masokan.iakn-toraja.ac.id. Submissions that do not comply with this requirement may be immediately rejected.
  3. Articles should address social and educational issues, including language, psychology, humanities practices, children, and family health.
  4. Submission undergo a double-blind review. Acceptance is based on the editorial team's decision following reviewers recommendations. 
  5. Articles Components: (a) Article title, (b) Author names without titles, (c) Author affiliation, (d) Abstract and keywords, (e) Introduction, (f) Methodology, (g) Results and discussion, (h) Conclution, (i) References.

Articles Formating

  1. Articles can be written in Indonesian or English.
  2. Manuscripts should be A4 size (210 x 297 mm) with margins: left 3 cm, top 2.5 cm, right 2 cm, bottom 2.5 cm. Length: 4000–6500 words, including images and tables, single-spaced (1.25). Use Cambria font, 12pt (except for the article title), in a single-column format.
  3. The title should be in Indonesian or English, maximum 14 words, in NewsGoth CN BT, 15pt, without a subtitle.
  4. Author Details: (a) Names: Listed without academic titles under the article title, in NewsGoth CN BT, 12pt, 1.5 cm from the left margin; (b) Multiple Authors: Use numbering for each author, with a single corresponding email marked with an asterisk () after the name. For example: …………1,………….2; (c) Affiliation: Provide complete affiliation details.
  5. Provide an abstract in both English and Indonesian, explaining research objectives, methods, theory, and findings. English abstract should be justified. Indonesian abstract should follow EYD (Ejaan yang Disempurnakan) rules, in Cambria 11pt, 1.5 cm from the left margin, single-spaced. Length: 150–200 words. Keywords (3-5) should be listed below the abstract text, separated by commas.

Articles Sections

  1. Introduction: Explain the problem, main research question, approach, and thesis statement.
  2. Research Method: The research method section should provide a comprehensive explanation of the study undertaken by the author, detailing the processes of data collection, manipulation, and application of theory or perspective to achieve the desired outcomes. It is not intended for citing research theories from experts in research methods.
  3. Results and Discussion: Clarify the issue, the theory used, the research findings, and provide an analysis, including new or modified theories. Organize your research findings clearly, linking them to the study's goals and using tables, figures, and quotations as needed. Explain your scientific findings with detailed causes and patterns, comparing them with existing research. In the discussion, interpret the findings, propose new hypotheses, and suggest future research directions based on your results.
  4. Tables and Figures: Center tables and figures on the page. Table captions go above tables; figure captions go below figures. Captions spanning multiple lines should be single-spaced.
  5. Conclusion: Answer the main research question without summarizing the paper, and propose future research questions. Highlight the significance of your findings in the broader context of the field. Suggest practical applications or implications for your research.
  6. Acknowledgements (if applicable): Recognize funding sources or individuals who contributed to the research.
  7. Footnotes and References: Use Turabian 9th edition (full note) style with Mendeley or Zotero for reference management. The bibliography must include references from primary sources, such as scientific journals, which should constitute at least 80% of the total citations and be published within the last ten years. Each article should have a minimum of fifteen references.
